Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to the family of St Gregory's, a high-performing 11-18 co-educational school rated Good overall by Ofsted with Outstanding Behaviour and Attitudes and Personal Development.

Melissa George

Our motto is 'In Christ we Flourish'. This isn't just a shiny poster in reception, we live and breathe our Christian values on a daily basis which is why we were judged Outstanding in our Section 48 inspection. Everyone is welcome at St Gregory's - we take great pride in being a diverse and inclusive place to study and work and we see every person as unique with God-given gifts and talents.  When your child joins our family, they are known as an individual and, over their seven years with us, they will flourish academically, personally and spiritually.

We offer a broad and balanced curriculum and our academic tradition inspires a love of learning for learning's sake. Our students are creative, inquisitive and questioning; they become ethical leaders who support each other and recognise everyone's potential to go out and become agents of change. Academic success is rooted in the education of the whole person. St Gregory's students are taught to step confidently into the world with the skills, qualities and virtues needed to adapt to the 21st century workplace.

We have great aspiration for all of our students and we help them develop into well-rounded, outward looking young people who care deeply for the common good and creation. Our students participate fully in the life of our school and embrace the many enriching opportunities that are on offer, both inside and outside the classroom.

Our pastoral provision is outstanding; with our emphasis on respect, responsibility, aspiration and virtue we help each student become the best, and truest, version of themselves. We really care for our students; what makes us stand out from other schools is our commitment to ensuring that our school community is happy, supportive and safe.

As a Catholic school, we provide our students with a moral compass based on the Gospel Values and Catholic Social Teaching that supports their unique growth and development. Being a Lasallian associate school, we pay close attention to respect, inclusivity, quality education, faith in the presence of God and care for those on the margins. We have the highest expectations of all children entrusted to us and we value the home-school partnership to help nurture the academic, personal and spiritual development of our young people.

Our website and prospectus will give you a good insight into what life is like at St Gregory's but it will only convey a glimmer of how wonderful our school truly is. I would encourage you to come and visit St Gregory's so you can meet our fantastic student ambassadors and our inspirational staff who will tell you why they are so proud of their outstanding co-educational community.

You are very welcome to come along to our Open Events or arrange an appointment to see St Gregory’s for yourself.

I look forward to welcoming you personally.
