Welcome to St Gregory’s Catholic College, an 11-18 co-educational secondary school, opened in 1979 following the amalgamation of the Convent High School and Cardinal Newman School. Originally an 11-16 school, the Sixth Form was opened in 2012 to provide 11-18 education.
St Gregory’s was founded with strong Catholic Christian values to serve families in Bath and the surrounding area which, as an inclusive school, places young people at the heart of everything we do.
The role of the Governing Body is to provide the strategic lead in supporting the provision of a high quality child-centred education and is underpinned by the school’s vision to promote the dignity and well-being of every child, ensuring that they flourish with us in a safe, happy and enriching environment. Our commitment to the school is unwavering in ensuring the continued provision of an outstanding educational experience for students both now and in the future.
The Governors are very proud of our school’s tradition of academic achievement and its reputation for Catholic education and pastoral care. We believe our school offers an outstanding environment in which all students can thrive.
We have extremely high expectations of both staff and students at St Gregory’s and, under the outstanding guidance of our Senior Leadership Team and all the staff, we will do our utmost to ensure that every student reaches their full potential, both academically as well as growing spiritually in the Catholic faith as well-rounded, caring and thoughtful individuals.
You will have seen the excellent results achieved by our students year-on-year and we look forward to enjoying continued success in the future. I believe your child will enjoy every aspect of their time at St Gregory’s and will become a valued member of our school community.
