Valentine's Disco
Earlier this week we had a big crowd of key stage three students come along to the Valentine's Disco, full of energy and showing off their dance moves. The event was organised and led by our team of Year 10 and 12 students who are fundraising an expedition to Cambodia in 2026. The hall was beautifully decorated by them with lots of homemade decorations and heart balloons galore! There was an inflatable photo booth full of dress up options which proved a huge hit with all those who came along.
One of the novelties the Cambodia team were keen to add to the event was a VIP lounge which included free hot and cold food, drinks, photo booth access and more. It was something which proved immensely popular - so many students arrived far too early just so that they could be a VIP. One young boy made my night when, upon entry, was disappointed to find that the VIP lounge wasn't in the staff room (which is nowhere near the hall!).
Whilst there was very little Celine Dion, Mariah Carey or Enrique Iglesias requested, and no 'swaying songs', the students loved the evening.
Special congratulations to Elsie who won the raffle on the night and couldn't have been any more delighted. The Cambodia group are incredibly grateful to everyone who came along and for parents' support. Please keep an eye out for future events.
