Advent is the season when we can take time to pause
Advent Reconciliation
Earlier this week we gathered for Reconciliation Services to begin the season of Advent. Focusing on preparing our hearts for Christmas, we used scripture, video clips, prayer and the power of candlelight to reflect on how each of us can bring hope and light to others. We heard the lesser known passage from Luke 11:33-40 where Jesus speaks of lamps being placed on a stand for all to see; in this passage Jesus continues by telling us that our whole body must be a light, comparing our very being with the power of a lamp in a dark room. Advent is the season when we can take time to pause, block out all the external noise and find ways to be a brighter light to others. Fr Robert spoke to our students about this and how we all have room to grow closer to God and shine brighter. Many of our students also took up the opportunity to seek the Lord’s mercy in the Sacrament of Reconciliation and we thank Fr Robert, Fr Tibor and Fr Jeremy for supporting our young people by hearing their confessions
FLAME 2025: FAITH YOUTH EVENT (Wembley Arena)
This a wonderful opportunity for young people to see faith in a vibrant and relevant way, and it is the event that we look forward to the most when it comes around every few years. The Lasallian district of UK, Ireland and Malta and St Cassian’s, Kintbury, are supporting us with tickets this year, enabling us to keep the price as low as possible. We look forward to meeting up with our fellow Lasallians from across the district and sit as one community in the venue to cheer on Br Chris as One La Salle. A letter has been sent via email to all students in Years 9-13 with full information enclosed, and the option to pay a £20 deposit is available on the School Gateway app. The link to sign your child up to this incredible event is https://forms.gle/SKGJqvs5Q2oq48jj7
