​BANES Year 9 Rounders tournament 2024

The Year 9s played in the annual BANES Rounders tournament on Wednesday 5 June. The team delivered a commendable performance in this competition, securing second place in a highly competitive field. They showcased great skill, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The St Gregory's team started strong against Norton Hill, displaying excellent teamwork and strategic play. We scored several rounders and excelled in fielding. The final score was 6 - 1 ½, a convincing win that set a positive tone for the day. We continued the winning streak against Oldfield and Writhlington scoring 6 ½ - 2 ½  & 5 ½ - 4. 

Facing the eventual winners, the match was intense and closely contested. Despite a valiant effort and some outstanding performances, including some remarkable fielding, the team narrowly lost with a final score of 1-2. This match was a true test of the team's resilience and skill.

Overall, the Year 9 rounders team should be incredibly proud of their second-place finish. Their teamwork, dedication and skills were evident throughout the competition, setting a strong foundation for future success. Congratulations to all the players!
