A journey of growth and connection
I joined St Gregory’s as a Geography teacher fourteen years ago and more recently have taken on the position of Assistant Headteacher. In my role, I work closely with other members of the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the school.
I am responsible for developing Literacy and Oracy across the school, both within the classroom and as part of our school’s culture. As a Geography teacher, I strive to inspire my students with a love for the natural and human world, fostering empathy and emotional intelligence to help them become responsible global citizens.
My journey at St Gregory’s began when I applied for a Geography teaching position. As a resident of Bath, I wanted to live and work in my home town.
St Gregory’s appealed to me because of its strong academic reputation, co-educational environment, and Catholic ethos, which resonated with my values.
Over the years, I have enjoyed building strong relationships with many students and staff members. It is incredibly rewarding to know that I have played a part in shaping and developing their futures. Seeing my students succeed, especially those who exceed their target grades and pursue Geography at A Level and university, fills me with pride and drives me to continue in my role.
St Gregory’s is also a part of my family life, as my son is currently in Year 11 here. We chose this school for its nurturing Catholic environment, where students are surrounded by peers who uphold high moral values, compassion, and kindness. We were confident that the dedicated staff would provide excellent care and support, guiding our son to be the best he can be.
For anyone considering joining the staff team at St Gregory’s, I can confidently say that this school is a family. The caring and supportive atmosphere allows for professional growth and personal support. The relationships I have built with both staff and students have been invaluable, making St Gregory’s a truly delightful place to work and flourish.
